However, the word is also used in everyday speech without making an explicitly religious statement. Common patterns include มีวาสนา “to have good fortune or a destined opportunity,” ไม่มีวาสนา “not to have such fortune or destiny,” วาสนาดี “to be blessed with a favorable lot,” and มีวาสนาได้ followed by a verb, meaning “to be fortunate enough or destined to do something.” Between people, มีวาสนาต่อกัน refers to a shared bond or destiny.
Usage
It is commonly used when discussing life-changing encounters, romance, marriage, success, wealth, or social status.
