ราคา is the basic word used to talk about prices, from everyday shopping to business transactions. It is neutral in style and common in both speech and writing. As a noun, it appears in patterns such as ราคาเท่าไหร่ (How much is it?), ราคาสูง (the price is high), ลดราคา (reduce the price; put on sale), ขึ้นราคา (raise the price), and ต่อราคา (bargain over the price). It can also act as a predicate, as in อันนี้ราคา 500 บาท, meaning “This costs 500 baht.” ตีราคา means to appraise something and assign a price to it, especially property or goods.

Caution
