Explanation
The expression consists of ของ “thing or item,” แตก “to crack or shatter,” and ง่าย, which follows a verb to mean “easy to” or “likely to.” It therefore literally means “things that break easily.” It commonly covers glassware, bottles, dishes, ceramics, and similar items. On shipping labels, ระวังแตก (“Fragile—handle with care”) is also common.
Usage
Used when packing, moving, shipping, or shopping to identify easily breakable contents and warn others to handle them carefully.
Caution
This does not cover every kind of “fragile” or “unreliable” object. For machines or electronics that tend to malfunction, ของเสียง่าย is more appropriate. It is also not normally used for an emotionally sensitive person.
