For example, ชอบสีม่วง means “to like purple.” Color expressions normally follow the noun they describe. เสื้อสีม่วง means “a purple shirt,” and รถสีม่วง means “a purple car.” In conversation, สี may sometimes be omitted, as in เสื้อม่วง. To describe shades, add เข้ม for “dark” or อ่อน for “light”: สีม่วงเข้ม is “dark purple,” and สีม่วงอ่อน is “light purple.”
