This Isan expression combines แซ่บ, meaning delicious with bold, satisfying flavors, and อีหลี, meaning “really” or “truly.” Together, they form an enthusiastic compliment such as “seriously delicious.” แซ่บ does not simply mean “spicy.” It positively evaluates a flavorful dish, often one with noticeable heat, sourness, herbs, or aroma.
