Do not normally use รำลึก for retrieving an ordinary fact, such as remembering where you left your keys; นึกออก or จำได้ is more natural in that situation. Also, the object of รำลึกถึง does not have to be someone who has died—it may be a living person, a period of life, an experience, or an event.
