Explanation
ดังกล่าว is built from ดัง, roughly “as,” and กล่าว, “to state” or “to mention.” In practice it means “the thing just mentioned.” The usual pattern is noun + ดังกล่าว, such as บริษัทดังกล่าว “the aforementioned company” or กรณีดังกล่าว “the said case.” It has a formal, written feel and is common in news, reports, official statements, contracts, and administrative writing.
Usage
It is common in news articles, reports, meeting minutes, contracts, government documents, and formal explanations when the speaker or writer needs to refer back precisely to something already introduced.
Caution
It can sound too formal in everyday conversation; คนนั้น, ร้านนั้น, เรื่องนั้น, and similar forms are usually more natural. Also, ดังกล่าว comes after the noun, as in บริษัทดังกล่าว, not before it. Do not use it for information being introduced for the first time.
