ไต่สวน is a formal verb. It implies a structured effort to establish facts through a series of questions and, where relevant, the examination of testimony or evidence. Its English translation depends on the setting and object: a person may be “officially questioned” or “interrogated,” while a court may “examine” a witness, motion, or body of evidence. Adding การ forms the action noun การไต่สวน, meaning an inquiry or formal examination.
Usage

Caution
