Explanation
This is a standard noun used in everyday conversation as well as résumés and interviews. It can describe accumulated experience or a particular experience, such as something that happened on a trip. มีประสบการณ์มาก means “have a lot of experience,” while มีประสบการณ์น้อย means “have little experience.” You can specify a field with ด้าน, as in ประสบการณ์ด้านการขาย, “experience in sales.” The word itself is neutral: an experience can be enjoyable, difficult, successful, or disappointing.
Usage
Use it to discuss work experience in an interview, reflect on travel or studying abroad, share personal experiences, or explain what you learned from mistakes.
Caution
ประสบการณ์ is a noun, not a verb meaning “experience.” To say that you have done something before, normally use เคย followed by a verb: เคยไปประเทศไทย means “have been to Thailand.”
