ทุกคน is formed from ทุก (“every”) and คน (“person”), so its literal sense is “every person.” In practice, it is best learned as a single pronoun meaning “everyone.” It can serve as a subject or object, and it is also commonly used to address a group directly, as in สวัสดีทุกคน (“Hello, everyone”). It is neutral in tone and works in everyday conversations, classrooms, group messages, and presentations. Politeness is usually conveyed by the rest of the sentence, including particles such as ครับ or ค่ะ.

Usage

Commonly used when talking about all the members of a family, class, workplace, or other group. It is also frequent when teachers address a class, hosts speak to an audience, or someone greets a group chat.

Caution

This word refers only to people. For “everything,” use ทุกอย่าง or another expression appropriate to things. Be careful with negation: ไม่ใช่ทุกคน means “not everyone.” To clearly say “no one” or “nobody,” ไม่มีใคร… is usually the natural construction.
